The CMS internship: Beijing
The six-month CMS internship will provide you with invaluable professional and personal experience as you seek to develop your legal and business knowledge, commercial awareness, office skills, interrelationships and much more, while working with local lawyers in a leading international law firm in the heart of Beijing. You will also be assigned a ‘mentor’ who you can contact for help and advice during your time with CMS.
You will work with two partners and a number of associates as you help support the Beijing team in providing first class professional service to clients in accordance with the firm’s strategy and values. You will also work closely with the team’s business services and external professional associations.
Responsibilities
Conduct legal, business and market research and analysis, draft memos to summarise research findings
Consult local authorities for information on legal compliance issues
Qualifications
Candidate required:
A first or second year postgraduate student studying law who has attained a degree in law (Juris Masters)
A second or third year postgraduate student studying law who has attained a degree in a subject other than law (LL.M.)
Skills and experience required
Excellent analytical and drafting abilities
An ability to work independently and efficiently while meeting demanding deadlines and balancing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Strong team work abilities
Motivated, disciplined and perceptive
Reporting
Report to a Junior Associate and the Managing Partner of CMS Beijing

We will recruit for an intern position every six months
